If boxing shoes always feel tight across the top or sides of your foot, you probably have wide feet – and you're not alone. Many popular boxing shoes are built narrow. The good news: the right model makes a big difference.
Signs you need a wider boxing shoe
- Pressure or numbness on the outside of your little toe.
- The upper bulges over the sole at the sides.
- You size up for width and end up with too much length at the toe.
1. Mizuno Finisher LOW and MID – best for wide feet
The Mizuno Finisher is built on a 2E (wide) last, which gives more room across the forefoot without adding length. Choose the Finisher LOW for a light, free-moving feel (about 265g per shoe) or the Finisher MID for more ankle coverage with full-opening lacing. Sizes US 4.5–10.5.
2. Winning boxing shoes – size by centimetre
Winning sizes by foot length in centimetres, so you can match your measured length exactly. The leather and mesh uppers soften with wear. The Mid-Cut FOLD Type and RS-003 lace low down the foot, which helps you adjust the fit across the forefoot.
3. Nike Machomai – the most forgiving Nike
Nike boxing shoes generally run narrow, but the Machomai's soft mesh upper gives more than the structured HyperKO. If you love Nike, try the Machomai and order half a size up.
Fit tips for wide feet
- Measure your foot length and width, and buy for length first.
- Use the full lacing to loosen the forefoot and tighten the ankle.
- Wear thinner socks for training.
- Avoid sizing up a full size just for width – extra toe room causes slipping.
